What BookGeist is

BookGeist is a reading-tracking application designed to record your personal library and the progress of each book.

The app lets you:

• Save books in your library.
• Record reading sessions with start page, end page, duration, and notes.
• Create notes and bookmarks associated with a book or a session.
• Review progress, reading pace, and statistics.
• Import and export data in formats supported by the app.
• Customize settings such as language, sound, focus mode, and display preferences.

Local-first approach

BookGeist is designed so that the core library and reading workflows work mainly on your device.

In the current version:

• You do not need to create an account to use the app.
• Your library, sessions, notes, and settings are stored mainly on your device.
• There is no mandatory cloud sync.
• Some features may use external services when needed, such as public book metadata lookup, cover images, purchases, crash diagnostics, or AI/vision features when available.
