Delete your account and data

Current status

In the current version there is no active BookGeist account, no mandatory sync with BookGeist-owned servers, and no automatic backup on a BookGeist-owned cloud. Therefore, if you use BookGeist in the current version, there is no server account for us to delete.

To delete local data, you can uninstall the app or clear its data from your device system settings.

When accounts are active

If a BookGeist account is activated in the future for Subscription, sync, cloud backup, or other server-side features, this page will be updated before public availability with the exact deletion process.

The expected process will be:

1. Open BookGeist.
2. Go to Settings → Account.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Confirm the operation.

If you no longer have the app installed, you will be able to write to contact@bookgeist.app from the email associated with your account, with the subject “Delete account”. We will verify your identity and process the request.

What will be deleted when an account exists

When a BookGeist account exists, deletion will include, except where legal retention obligations apply:

• Your account and its associated email.
• Synced reading data and BookGeist-owned cloud backups, if those features are active.
• Any data linked to your identity on our servers.

What may be retained and for how long

• Data stored locally on your device is not deleted through a server-side process; delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing its data from system settings.
• We may retain certain information for the period required by applicable legal obligations, for example billing records managed by Apple or Google.
• Purchases are managed by Apple and Google; refunds or retention are governed by their policies.

Timeframe

We will process deletion requests as soon as possible and, in any case, within the legally applicable timeframes after receipt and verification.
